Just Dogs Live event

Just Dogs Live at the East of England Showground

Thank you for attending the Just Dogs Live event on 8-10th July 2011, we hope you had a wonderful time at the Show.

Although a little wet and windy at times, the weather didn't stop thousands of visitors attending the Show to enjoy a weekend of canine capers, dog displays and demonstrations.

Over the weekend, we raised a whopping £1544 for our dedicated charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Hearing Dogs is a remarkable charity and a centre of excellence in training dogs to alert deaf people to important sounds and danger signals. Some of the techniques used were presented by the team at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in the outdoor display ring.

The outdoor ring featured a variety of demonstrations from coaching to dog agility. Displays included a behavioural workshop from experts Stan and Paul Rawlinson who invited spectators into the ring for a live coaching demonstration. Paul Daly was also on hand to advise visitors on how to overcome and eliminate common behavioural issues.

Pets as Therapy, a charity offering companionship, comfort and support showcased a handful of their many PAT dogs who visit hospitals, schools and residential homes across the country.

A fantastic display was provided by Lains Shooting School and Mullenscote Gundogs who have been training dogs for over 20 years. During the weekend, their lively and exciting demonstration shared tips and techniques on how to handle and train working dogs.

The amazing Lowestoft Dog Agility Display Team simply blew visitors away with their fast and furious agility show. Pepper, Star, Sky and friends were seen jumping through the fire loops, racing through the tunnels and jumping over countless benches. A totally energetic performance from the team.

Elsewhere during the Show which is organised by the East of England Agricultural Society, spectators had 'flyball fever' when Cambridgeshire Canines Flyball Team entered the ring. Spectators also had the opportunity to get up close and personal to over 30 different breeds in our Just Dogs Live Village and participate in dog agility and fun dog classes. The classes awarded the dog which had the 'Waggiest Tail', the 'Most Handsome' dog and much more! Results from the classes can be found here.
