It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it – organisers of this year’s Just Dogs Live event in Peterborough have been searching for the area’s most popular pooch friendly pubs!

The local watering holes have been voted for by visitors to the East of England Arena and Events Centre, and through an appeal on social media to find dog friendly pubs and restaurants that show-goers can visit during Just Dogs Live in July.

They include; Peterborough’s Boathouse; The Brewery Tap (Peterborough); Prince of Wales Feathers, Castor; the Ramblewood Inn, Orton Hall Hotel; The White Hart, Ufford; Horse and Jockey in Rutland and the Black Horse, Elton. All have received a framed certificate from organisers of Just Dogs Live.

Ian Strange, head of internal events at the East of England Arena and Events Centre said: “This year’s event is going to be even bigger and better than the last – with fantastic displays, lots of fun for the whole family, the opportunity for dog owners to get involved with a number of events, plenty of retail choice and of course, the Championship Dog Show – a forerunner for Crufts 2018.

“The fact that a large number of establishments locally welcome well-behaved dogs accompanying their owners can only mean great news for the local economy, and gives visitors the chance to extend their stay in the area after a great day at Just Dogs Live.”

Having earned a reputation as the region’s answer to a summer Crufts – Just Dogs Live (which incorporates the prestigious East of England Championship Dog Show, is a family-friendly hands-on three-day event, with competition and displays for dog lovers of all ages.
