The East Anglian SBT Club Display Team

The East Anglian SBT Club was founded in 1973 and has always promoted responsible dog ownership and highlighted the breed in a positive light.  Due to irresponsible breeding Staffordshire Bull Terriers and their ‘crosses’ are frequently the most ‘dumped’ dogs in rescue centres. The Club is very proud to have won the Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Award Scheme annual award for Breed Clubs on two occasions as well as having been placed in other years.

We have previously taken part in displays in the Special Events and the Dog Days Out rings and also in various Good Citizen displays at Crufts over the years. We have also  appeared in the Main Arena for the past four years and in 2012 with Paul O’Grady as our special guest we had a great time showing everyone what fabulous characters Staffordshire Bull Terriers are.

We are very fortunate to have members that are dedicated to agility and have developed their own SBT League and enabled us to form the EASBTC Display Team which is now performing around the East Anglian region throughout the summer and also at Crufts and Discover Dogs on a regular basis. Our 2012 Crufts display featured Paul O’Grady as our special guest we had a great time showing everyone what fabulous characters Staffordshire Bull Terriers are. You may also have seen some of the team dogs featured in the ITV programme For The Love of Dogs, starring Paul O’Grady, made in conjunction with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

Our team consists of home bred dogs and rescues, some KC registered some not, and we take every opportunity to show the general public the positive side while busting some urban myths about the breed, and giving out the message that while rescue homes everywhere are full of bull breeds and they are great dogs, they aren’t the right breed for every family so make sure you research before committing.
