Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We want to make Just Dogs Live your Top Dog event of the year – and answer a few of your questions to ensure your visit is a paws-itively great one!

  1. Is it purely a dog event or will there be things for the owners to enjoy?

While the focus of the event is very much dogs, we recognise that the owners need to be just as happy as their pets – particularly when it comes to being adequately fed and watered! There will be numerous food stands offering a range of hot and cold snacks as well as drinks and sweet treats. Or if you fancy something a bit more special – why not tuck into a delicious hot meal in our restaurant?

  1. We can’t enter the main competition, but can we bring our dog and how can he get involved?

You and your dog will be spoilt for choice when it comes to taking part in the event. We have a number of competition for dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds (and their owners) to take part in – a full list of details and how you can get involved is available on the website

  1. What about parking?

The East of England Showground site has ample free parking. There is space for 22 coaches and 2,000 cars on hard standing, with an additional 20,000 parking spaces on turf.

  1. What’s the best day to attend?

There is plenty to keep the whole family entertained and busy throughout the three action and fun-packed days Friday 7, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July. A full run through of the main attractions is a click away on the What’s On section of the website. The children will also be able to enjoy our Wacky Bumpers inflatable bumper cars and there will be lots of other fun attractions for your younger visitors. It will be a case of who is worn out first – you, your children or your dog!

  1. What happens if it rains?

Due to the nature of the event, many of the attractions and displays are outdoors, as well as a number of the trade stands and exhibition stalls. However, the main arena and the atrium – both of which are indoors – will be jam packed with attractions, shopping opportunities, on hands experts and seated refreshments areas.

  1. What are the ‘must see’ stands and events we should put at the top of our ’to do’ list when we arrive?

Well, where do we start? We have displays including the Wonder Collies, the Essex Dog Display and the East Anglian Staffordshire Bull Terrier Display Team. Our brand new 2017 show leaflet will be uploaded to the website very soon. Our headline sponsors Autarky will be among the numerous trade stands where you can by everything from food and treats to dog-lover trinkets and gifts. There’s even the chance to visit a pop up photo studio if fancy a spot of modelling for your dog!

  1. What’s the best way to keep updated with this year’s event?

Our website is being updated in a regular basis, as and when additional attractions are finalised, Our social media channels Twitter @JustDogsLive and Facebook page provide up to the minute information and our leaflet will soon be available to pick up free at an outlet near you. There will also be regional newspaper coverage and adverts in the run up to the event.

  1. We don’t have a dog – can we still attend?

Absolutely! Just Dogs Live is a great family day out – and a perfect one-stop-shop if you are thinking about getting a canine companion.

  1. We will be travelling to the event from outside of Peterborough. Are there dog friendly places to stay and visit nearby?

There are indeed a number of hotels and dog friendly pubs close to the venue and a little further afield, offering plenty of choice for a stop off before your journey home – or if you are making a short break of it, there is a great choice for accommodation to make the most of your stay. The popular Ferry Meadows Country Park – with Caravan Park – is also on the doorstep.

  1. Forgot to ask, how much is it?

Admission for Just Dogs Live is £10 per car on the day – fantastic value for a great family day out. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own dog for a £2 admission charge, which will be donated to animal welfare charities. Gates open at 8am.
