Just Dogs Live supports charity training dogs to detect human disease
JUST Dogs Live is delighted to announce its support for a charity that trains dogs to detect the odour of human disease – and could quite literally, save a life.
Medical Detection Dogs is currently at the forefront of the research into the fight against cancer and helping people with life-threatening diseases.
The charity, which has HRH Duchess of Cornwall as its Patron, receives no government funding for its work, relying entirely on donations from trusts and the public.
This year proceeds from the £2 admission per dog at the Just Dogs Live event (July 6,7,8) will be donated to the charity – which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
The donation will go towards helping to fund the work of the organisation which trains Bio-Detection Dogs to find the odour of diseases, such as cancer, in samples such as urine, breath and swabs. The charity’s Medical Alert Assistance Dogs are trained to detect minute changes in an individual’s personal odour triggered by their disease and alert them to an impending medical event.
Tickets for Just Dogs Live are on sale now from the website.
