The Tailwagger Club Dog Display Team at #JDL2019
The Tailwagger Club Dog Display Team will be performing at Just Dogs Live 2019, here’s a little more about them.
The Tailwagger Club Dog Display Team consists of a squad of up to 35 dogs with 30 handlers. All of the dogs attend training classes at the Tailwagger Club which has its headquarters in Harrogate and runs classes in Harrogate, Leeds and Otley. The ethos of the club is to promote positive reward-based training which ensures that training is enjoyed by both dogs and handlers alike.
Our displays highlight some of the skills that dogs (and handlers) learn both at classes and at team training sessions. They consist of a combination of musical sequences, fun obedience and tricks and the accent is on having fun whilst, hopefully, entertaining the public.
All the team dogs are, first and foremost, family pets. Many are rescue dogs, some of whom had a difficult start in life. Others are dogs who have had behavioural issues. Team dogs range in age from the very young to the very old. All are welcome in our team and their participation in the displays shows what can be achieved with positive training.
The team is entirely non-profit making. Team members are volunteers and take no expenses, and all monies raised go to the charities we support.
